Kidical Mass meets Streets for People, Fairfax, CA

SUNDAY, AUGUST 28TH, 2016

**PLEASE NOTE: We will be filming the event for the finale of Liz Canning's documentary, "MOTHERLOAD" (formerly known as "LESS CAR MORE GO"). Streets for People is returning on Sunday, August 28th, 2016 and we've decided to kick off an inaugural Kidical Mass in Fairfax on the same day. Grab your family and cargo bikes and peddle over to meet us for a short family ride to San Anselmo and back and a mini-parade through the Streets for People festival to show off your cool cargo bikes!

BACKGROUND: Kidical Mass is a legal, safe and FUN bike ride for kids, kids at heart, and their families. The first ride was held in April 2008 in Eugene, Oregon and has now spread to over a dozen communities throughout North America and beyond. The rides are meant to be family friendly bike rides through a community. All types of bikes, trailers, trail-a-bikes, Xtracycles, longtails, bakfiets, Long Johns, tandems, folders, trikes, and whatever rolls are welcome! We celebrate the fact that Kids are Traffic Too and aim for family fun on vehicles that don’t hurt the future! It’s just another excuse to pedal around town with your family.

Family bike ride from Fairfax to San Anselmo and back. Kids can be on own bikes. We will keep it safe and ride down Broadway in the bike lane and connect to Center rd.

11:15am--Parade

When we return, cargo bikes loaded with humans, kids, dogs, what-have-you, follow the Rocco Dancers down Bolinas road and wrap around Broadway Blvd, back down Bank Street and around again to show-off your awesomeness! It is very important that kids do NOT ride their own bikes during the parade. The retailers will have carpets, tea and fragile items on display that we need to respect. The parade will be exclusively for cargo riders.

*BONUS: Decorate your bike and receive a free scoop of ice cream from Scoop!

11:30-5pm--Streets for People

Stay and enjoy the festival and park your beautiful cargo bike on display in a designated place for all to admire.

RSVP: info@motherload.com. Let us know if you think you can make it, so we know what kind of numbers to expect. We look forward to building our cargo-cyclist riding community here in Fairfax. Thanks!
