10:00 a.m.
Grab your family and cargo bikes and pedal over to meet us for a short family ride from Fairfax to Memorial Park! We will show you the safe way to get there on the side streets, avoiding the busy Sir Francis Drake. At the end, we will provide snacks and coffee. The ride will be about 45 minutes.
BACKGROUND: Kidical Mass is a legal, safe and FUN bike ride for kids, kids at heart, and their families. The first KM ride was held in April 2008 in Eugene, Oregon; Kidical Mass has now spread to over two dozen communities throughout North America and beyond. The events are designed to be family-friendly bike rides through a community. All types of bikes are welcome: trailers, trail-a-bikes, Xtracycles, longtails, bakfiets, Long Johns, tandems, folders, regular bikes, trikes, and whatever rolls! We celebrate the fact that "Kids are Traffic Too" and aim for family fun on vehicles that don’t hurt the future!
**PLEASE NOTE: We will be filming the event for the finale of Liz Canning's documentary film "MOTHERLOAD". By participating in the group ride and parade, you consent to be on camera and may appear in our documentary. If you have any questions about the material, please don't hesitate to email: info@motherloadmovie.com.
